TRUST ME, I’M A NEW YORKER: Matt HarveyShare
Taking a moment to ask real New Yorkers real New York questions.
Matt Harvey, Baseball pitcher for the New York Mets
Taxi or Uber?
Uber is winning out lately.
NY Times or NY Post?
Sporting News, which I check on my phone.
Central Park or Hudson Park?
Central Park – it has more ball fields.
Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s?
Like most Manhattanites, I'm a sucker for Whole Foods.
Starbucks or bodega coffee?
Do I really have a choice? There’s a Starbucks on every corner.
The Hamptons or Upstate?
The Hamptons, although I prefer the traffic Upstate.
Worse tourist trap: Magnolia Bakery or Times Square?
Times Square. At least at Magnolia Bakery, you get a cupcake after fighting the crowd.
Tap or bottled water?
New York’s finest.
Street meat or a slice?
A slice all day.
THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
First snow or first spring day?
Spring is baseball season!
Would you rather: a walk-in closet or outdoor space?
Outdoor space is pretty special.
Shake Shack or Corner Bistro?
Corner Bistro. In fact, I could go for one of those burgers right about now.
More magical: The streets at dusk or the streets at dawn?
Depending on why you're up, the streets at dawn are pretty awesome.
Rooftop drinking or park picnic?
Museums or galleries?
Museums—The Museum of Natural History makes me feel like a kid again.
Brooklyn Bridge or Williamsburg Bridge?
Boozy brunch or late-night dinner?
Late-night dinner during the season is always a thing.
Scarier thought: a falling air conditioner or falling into an open sidewalk cellar?
Sidewalk cellars! I can't believe more people don't fall into those.
More likely to: people watch or dog watch?
People…unless the dog's a boxer.
The Angelika or Lincoln Plaza CINEMA?
I’ve enjoyed them both. Who doesn’t love a good indie film?
