June 2, 2016 marks the second annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Kenneth Cole Productions has advocated for gun safety since 1986, and to show our continued support, we are pleased to participate in the “Wear Orange” campaign.
The campaign was inspired by Chicago teens who began wearing orange and taking action to celebrate the life of their friend who was lost to gun violence. Partnering with Everytown for Gun Safety, the “Wear Orange” campaign has since grown into a national movement.
On June 2, Kenneth Cole will share a #WearOrange photo online, turn our social avatars orange, distribute Wear Orange pins to employees and invite them to participate in the campaign. The Bond & Bowery store will also be lit up in orange lights the evening of June 2. In doing so, we pledge to honor the lives of Americans lost to gun violence, help keep firearms out of dangerous hands, and commit to responsible gun ownership.
We hope you will join us and hundreds of other advocates by wearing orange, or sharing a selfie on social media with #WearOrange.
