1997 Print Ad
Sometimes the biggest number can be zero. This ad highlighted how many people were infected by the disease, but the true focus of the message was on the need to find a cure through AIDS research. If we ran this ad today, due to the amazing stories of Timothy Ray Brown, “The Berlin Patient,” and the newborn baby in rural Mississippi, who were both cured of HIV, we’d now have to use “00,000,002 CURED.”
That tiny, yet miraculous number has become a powerful symbol of hope for many across the world.
