In the days following the horrific events of 9/11, as an act of solidarity, we placed American flags in all of our store windows accompanied with this message that we had long been known for. All we did was change the icon from an AIDS ribbon to an American flag.
We asked people to come into our stores and support the September 11th fund by buying the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) T-shirts. This response felt appropriate and consistent with our roots.
